About us

Northern Negros Electric Cooperative, Inc. (NONECO) which was originally known as V-M-C Rural Electric Services Cooperative, Inc. (VRESCO) holds the distinction of being the pilot rural electrification project in the Philippines. 

NONECO was converted into a non-stock, non-profit electric cooperative under NEA per R.A. 6038, as amended by P.D. 269 in October 1969. At present, the service area coverage of NONECO has expanded to include the cities of Sagay, Escalante and San Carlos, as well as the towns of Toboso, E.B. Magalona and Calatrava.

BRIEF HISTORY OF NONECO

NONECO was originally incorporated as a stock corporation on April 1963. It was granted its franchise, originally, to operate in the municipalities of Victorias (now a city), Manapla and Cadiz City by virtue of R.A. 4598 of June 19, 1965. It holds the distinction of being the pilot rural electrification project in the Philippines. NONECO was converted into a non-stock, non-profit electric cooperative under NEA per R.A. 6038, as amended by P.D. 269 in October 1969. At present, the service area coverage of NONECO has expanded to include the cities of Sagay, Escalante and San Carlos, as well as the towns of Toboso, E.B. Magalona and Calatrava.
